Dario Nabor's late challenge caught a Eintracht Bremerhaven's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dario Nabor helped the player get up and apologised. Bum-Kun Altvater received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Eckhard Billmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bum-Kun Altvater in the 13th minute of play forced Hellengerst FSV's goalkeeper Eckhard Billmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jochen Stübgen kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Hellengerst FSV's Paul Weinmann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Heibrink narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Rudolf Treusch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Hellengerst FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eintracht Bremerhaven the free kick.
