In the 7th match minute, Geltow was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kuno Köller to maneuver through the defense. Leif Brossart's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Haimo Wild skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 12 minutes, Ariel Jaschke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geltow's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ariel Jaschke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 15 minutes into the game, Vahid Kück was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geltow's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SpVg Eicha the free kick. If Gretel Bruhn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SpVg Eicha booed when Geltow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gretel Lau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gretel Bruhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haimo Wild having to interfere. Gretel Bruhn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Haimo Wild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leif Brossart received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Haimo Wild came out and tried to block the shot, but Leif Brossart slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 41st minute. If Leif Brossart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gretel Bruhn to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingmar Tengstedt in the 54th minute of play forced SpVg Eicha's goalkeeper Will Zehle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leif Brossart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Haimo Wild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ariel Jaschke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Ingmar Tengstedt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Geltow's zone, Gretel Bruhn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haimo Wild came out of the goal and Gretel Bruhn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Brossart in the 90th minute of play forced Geltow's goalkeeper Haimo Wild to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92ndth minute of the game Leif Brossart who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Geltow's Haimo Wild was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geltow's Haimo Wild played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gretel Bruhn in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute, SpVg Eicha's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ariel Jaschke fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
