Weidenhausen's supporters rose to their feet, but Ullrich Zahn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Kasten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren's Vahid Stickel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rick Weninger. That made the score 1-2 after 45 minutes of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vahid Stickel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brix Schneidereit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute, Sevim Scheelen sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Weidenhausen's Rick Weninger didn't even have to move. Donald Kasten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Egmund Schuhmacher in the 59th minute. Brix Schneidereit's late challenge caught a Weidenhausen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brix Schneidereit helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, Brix Schneidereit hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren's Donald Kasten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren from getting a goal against them. Vahid Stickel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Weninger having to interfere. Brix Schneidereit recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th match minute, TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Mall to maneuver through the defense. Weidenhausen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gerrit Bruns in the 98th minute. Weidenhausen were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over TSV 1893 Leipzig-Wahren's much stronger midfield.
