The audience was convinced that Paul Oswald's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benny Wedig was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Rottstaedt during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, 1.FC Mehlesdorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hasso Gölz to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute, Rudolf Schott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th minute Paul Oswald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benny Wedig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven Lorei was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Enak Schwarzfischer took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Benny Wedig to make any attempt to save it. In the 59th minute, Sven Lorei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benny Wedig made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul Oswald in the 89th minute. Benny Wedig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Lorei in the 93rd minute of play. Paul Oswald took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benny Wedig. Benny Wedig dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.
