When Stephan Beil fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Bayern Salzgitter's protests and gave Stephan Beil a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes FC Bayern Salzgitter got a freekick which was hit by Stephan Beil. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samir Janotta got free with Benni Merges in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 7 minutes into the match, FC Bayern Salzgitter's goalkeeper Benni Merges had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samir Janotta. Simon Hutterer hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. When Otto Haug came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Laake fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otto Haug couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the game, Samir Janotta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Benni Merges was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 18 minutes, Reinhard Hambückers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laake and the FC Bayern Salzgitter players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Laake getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Reinhard Hambückers hit a great ball. Eugen Krehl took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tristan Eplinius. Laake's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Otto Haug in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benni Merges prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute, Christoph Herrmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simon Hutterer hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Otto Haug sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Otto Haug's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benni Merges read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Benni Merges made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Samir Janotta sent off a good shot on target. Otto Haug sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samir Janotta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benni Merges having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Laake's zone, Marian Wiedemeyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tristan Eplinius came out of the goal and Marian Wiedemeyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
After 53 minutes Laake's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eugen Krehl who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Eugen Krehl almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Laake's Tristan Eplinius did a great save. The audience was convinced that Samir Janotta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benni Merges was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. In the 59th minute, Guillaume Adolph ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tristan Eplinius was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Laake's Reinhard Hambückers got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Reinhard Hambückers off the ground. After 63 played minutes Laake got a freekick which was hit by Reinhard Hambückers. After recieving a nice pass, FC Bayern Salzgitter's Eugen Krehl tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Tristan Eplinius was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Marian Wiedemeyer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marian Wiedemeyer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Samir Janotta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benni Merges having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Otto Haug got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Laake's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Wiedemeyer came free, but Tristan Eplinius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laake's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Marian Wiedemeyer scored to the left of an out of position Tristan Eplinius, making the score, 1-3. Michael Jakowitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Marian Wiedemeyer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tristan Eplinius, 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Bayern Salzgitter eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
