Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hermann Poß started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Hermann Poß managed to get in a good position for a shot. Höne's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermann Poß was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Connor Kohlert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maximilian Pletz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute of the match Harry Zirwes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matthäus Wiesenberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Matthäus Wiesenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximilian Pletz in the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the game, Lothar Bäcker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Connor Kohlert was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Connor Kohlert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ralph Duin in the 19th minute. Connor Kohlert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermann Poß's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the game, Uno Vogel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hannover 96's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Höne the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hannover 96's Uno Vogel got a free kick in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Höne getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Thierry Eberl hit a great ball. Connor Kohlert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermann Poß, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute Hermann Poß shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Kohlert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hermann Poß had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ralph Duin in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Connor Kohlert saved Hannover 96 from getting behind. Ralph Duin came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Connor Kohlert could save by the left post. Hannover 96's Harry Zirwes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Höne. Thanks to some nice moves Ralph Duin could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Connor Kohlert however easily saved by the left post. 45 minutes into the match, Höne's goal looked a bit too open when Maximilian Pletz came free, but Matthäus Wiesenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Uno Vogel was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Hannover 96 got a freekick which was hit by Niclas Gerdes. In the 54th minute, Hermann Poß got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Hermann Poß had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Connor Kohlert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermann Poß, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermann Poß in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Connor Kohlert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Connor Kohlert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermann Poß in the 63rd minute of the match. Connor Kohlert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermann Poß in the 70th minute of play. Connor Kohlert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermann Poß, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Hermann Poß got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erasmus Kilian charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erasmus Kilian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th match minute, Höne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmus Kilian to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Hannover 96's zone, Ralph Duin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connor Kohlert came out of the goal and Ralph Duin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Höne fully deserved thier win.
