The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luca Pfister hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, BC09's goal looked a bit too open when Hubert Jeske came free, but Jason Nelles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Alex Nebel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Volkmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luca Pfister scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Volker Volkmer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amir Gärtner struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jason Nelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC HARZ THALE. Kees Hofrichter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Jason Nelles made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amir Gärtner during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Amir Gärtner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute, FC HARZ THALE's Gunnar Lutze seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gunnar Lutze the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC HARZ THALE protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gunnar Lutze had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 32 minutes into the match, FC HARZ THALE's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Pfister came free, but Volker Volkmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hubert Jeske came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the FC HARZ THALE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hubert Jeske couldn't finish the play. Kees Hofrichter struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Jason Nelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC HARZ THALE. After the first half BC09 were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Alex Nebel made the kick off in the second half. When Tillmann Harnack fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC HARZ THALE's protests and gave Tillmann Harnack a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of BC09 booed when FC HARZ THALE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tillmann Harnack didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alex Nebel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 67 minutes, Hubert Jeske managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC HARZ THALE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hubert Jeske was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to BC09 getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Curtis Schiersand hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, BC09's Leif Dubrau broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 80th minute, Hubert Jeske got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, FC HARZ THALE's goalkeeper Volker Volkmer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Nebel. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Nebel in the 86th minute of play forced FC HARZ THALE's goalkeeper Volker Volkmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hubert Jeske fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Nelles having to interfere. When the final whistle went the supporters of BC09 were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant FC HARZ THALE side.
