In the 15th minute, Kees Hofrichter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hohenschmark FC's Jakob Nilßon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kees Hofrichter in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Hohenschmark FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Hubertus Knodel hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes Hohenschmark FC got a freekick which was hit by Reinhold Ralf. In the 25th minute Hubert Jeske shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jakob Nilßon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregor Altmann took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Volker Volkmer. Volker Volkmer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. FC HARZ THALE's Volker Volkmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregor Altmann in the 31st minute of play. A hard shot 32 in the game by Hubert Jeske from a close distance when the talented Jakob Nilßon managed to make a qualified save. Hohenschmark FC's players were relieved. In the 34th minute Hasso Schabert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jakob Nilßon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hohenschmark FC's Erich Hartwig got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Hubert Jeske got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jakob Nilßon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hubert Jeske in the 39th minute. Hasso Schabert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Hohenschmark FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Dennis Pfeifer hit a great ball. In the 44th match minute, Hohenschmark FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erich Hartwig to maneuver through the defense. Hubert Jeske sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC HARZ THALE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hohenschmark FC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Hasso Schabert made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregor Altmann in the 51st minute of play forced FC HARZ THALE's goalkeeper Volker Volkmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cees Eckhardt came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the FC HARZ THALE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cees Eckhardt couldn't finish the play. Erich Hartwig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Volker Volkmer made a huge save. FC HARZ THALE's Volker Volkmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erhard Ehrlich in the 57th minute of play. After 60 played minutes Hohenschmark FC got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Pfeifer. Hohenschmark FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hasso Schabert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Reinhold Ralf charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reinhold Ralf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 69th minute of the game. One of Hohenschmark FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC HARZ THALE:s goal. Jakob Nilßon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hubert Jeske in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Hohenschmark FC defense, Hubert Jeske kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jakob Nilßon. The Hohenschmark FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jakob Nilßon should have stopped the shot. Gunnar Lutze helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Hohenschmark FC booed when FC HARZ THALE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gunnar Lutze didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erich Hartwig in the 90th minute of play forced FC HARZ THALE's goalkeeper Volker Volkmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, FC HARZ THALE's goal looked a bit too open when Erhard Ehrlich came free, but Volker Volkmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Volker Volkmer was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gregor Altmann showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 93 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Hubert Jeske's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jakob Nilßon was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
