Spectators: 5003 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Berthold Burgdorf kicked off to start the match. Klara Schimmelpfennig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berthold Burgdorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The supporters of 1.FC Nürnberg booed when FSV Lanzenhausen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rik Hettlich didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 5 minutes, Berthold Burgdorf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC Nürnberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berthold Burgdorf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in 1.FC Nürnberg's zone, Amos Hofmeister stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolf Pott came out of the goal and Amos Hofmeister tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mathias Drewniak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Rudolf Pott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Ronny Knappe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind 1.FC Nürnberg's goalkeeper Rudolf Pott, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mathias Drewniak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Rudolf Pott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Drewniak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Berthold Burgdorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronald Scholz in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Klara Schimmelpfennig saved FSV Lanzenhausen from getting behind. Amos Hofmeister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathias Drewniak succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias Drewniak in the 40th minute of play forced 1.FC Nürnberg's goalkeeper Rudolf Pott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mathias Drewniak to strike the kick off in the second half. When Mathias Drewniak fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FSV Lanzenhausen's protests and gave Mathias Drewniak a yellow card for diving instead. After 51 played minutes FSV Lanzenhausen got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Drewniak. Ladislaus Ukrow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Klara Schimmelpfennig having to make a save. After 56 minutes, Ronald Scholz made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. FSV Lanzenhausen's Klara Schimmelpfennig tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, 1.FC Nürnberg's Franco Stumpf got a free kick in the 58th minute. The FSV Lanzenhausen fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when FSV Lanzenhausen's Mathias Drewniak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 64 minutes of play, 1.FC Nürnberg's Ronald Scholz made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Klara Schimmelpfennig was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th match minute, FSV Lanzenhausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ludolf Hippler to maneuver through the defense. Berthold Burgdorf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klara Schimmelpfennig having to interfere. Ronald Scholz struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Klara Schimmelpfennig didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1.FC Nürnberg. In the 89thth minute of the game Ronald Scholz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FSV Lanzenhausen's Klara Schimmelpfennig was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 1.FC Nürnberg's Rudolf Pott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathias Drewniak in the 93rd minute of play. FSV Lanzenhausen's Ludolf Hippler suffered a concussion in the 94th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Clint Deling's late challenge caught a FSV Lanzenhausen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clint Deling helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to 1.FC Nürnberg getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Clint Deling hit a great ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
