He walked away shaking his head. After having played for 7 minutes, Peter Andreowsky managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herlikofen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Andreowsky was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Andreowsky might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rudolf Pott. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Andreowsky ran back to his position shaking his head. When Clint Deling fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 1.FC Nürnberg's protests and gave Clint Deling a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, Clint Deling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sammy Rippert came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by 1.FC Nürnberg's Ronald Scholz. But to his dismay, Ronald Scholz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Ronald Scholz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf Pott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Andreowsky in the 38th minute of play. Peter Andreowsky scored 1-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rudolf Pott, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wolfgang Boback charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wolfgang Boback the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sammy Rippert made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Ronald Scholz sent off a good shot on target. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peter Andreowsky stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josip Kemski got free with Rudolf Pott in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, Herlikofen FC's Peter Andreowsky sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rudolf Pott narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 1.FC Nürnberg's Rudolf Pott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Andreowsky in the 61st minute of play. Ronald Scholz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sammy Rippert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 88th play minute Josip Kemski came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rudolf Pott. 3-2. 1.FC Nürnberg were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Herlikofen FC for a fine match.
