Frederik Walde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Okke Jastrzembowski having to interfere. With 15 minutes on the clock, Mads Felski commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 15 minutes into the game, one of USAK SPOR 1979:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave FC Gerolstein a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gerold Joder, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of USAK SPOR 1979's Okke Jastrzembowski. 0-1. In the 20th minute, Bernd Kraatz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd match minute, USAK SPOR 1979 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Kapteina to maneuver through the defense. USAK SPOR 1979's Okke Jastrzembowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Georg Bartels in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frederik Walde to make the kick off. Maiko Schreiner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Eberhard Meier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Georg Bartels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Okke Jastrzembowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederik Walde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frederik Walde in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Okke Jastrzembowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Walde in the 72nd minute of play forced USAK SPOR 1979's goalkeeper Okke Jastrzembowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frederik Walde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Okke Jastrzembowski having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Walde in the 81st minute of play forced USAK SPOR 1979's goalkeeper Okke Jastrzembowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Karl-Georg Bartels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Gerolstein's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Georg Bartels was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute Frederik Walde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Okke Jastrzembowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The USAK SPOR 1979 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Gerolstein were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
