In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Die Löwen's goalkeeper Aimo Konschal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Günther Rehmer sped through Die Löwen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aimo Konschal. If Günther Rehmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Heiner Schwarz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Höhbeck FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Heiner Schwarz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aimo Konschal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Günther Rehmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aimo Konschal having to interfere. Levin Wefers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Günther Rehmer came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Höhbeck FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Günther Rehmer couldn't finish the play. If Sascha Lichy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Günther Rehmer did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Aimo Konschal 54 minutes into the match. Claus Nobs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sascha Lichy in the 59th minute of play. Claus Nobs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sascha Lichy, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Claus Nobs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helmuth Forst in the 64th minute of the match. With his leg Aimo Konschal managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Höhbeck FSV's Günther Rehmer fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 67 minutes in the game, Emanuel Überwasser fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aimo Konschal having to interfere. Günther Rehmer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aimo Konschal having to make a save. Aimo Konschal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Überwasser in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sascha Lichy in the 74th minute of play forced Höhbeck FSV's goalkeeper Claus Nobs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the game, Steffen Kalthoff was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Höhbeck FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Die Löwen the free kick. In the 75th minute, Steffen Kalthoff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claus Nobs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sascha Lichy in the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Die Löwen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claus Heinrichs to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Klaus Blaum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Die Löwen's zone, Steffen Kalthoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aimo Konschal came out of the goal and Steffen Kalthoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Günther Rehmers short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Aimo Konschal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Günther Rehmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Überwasser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 minutes, Günther Rehmer made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Die Löwen's Aimo Konschal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded Höhbeck FSV left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Die Löwen.
