Raphael Wuttke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claus Nobs having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Raphael Wuttke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Günther Rehmer could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Gunter Knoll however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Raphael Wuttke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edoburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Raphael Wuttke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claus Nobs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eckard Mahler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Höhbeck FSV booed when Edoburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dierk Adorno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raphael Wuttke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute of the match, Günther Rehmer got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gunter Knoll was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Edoburg's Gunter Knoll played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Günther Rehmer in the 45th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Günther Rehmer to make the kick off. Heiner Schwarz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gunter Knoll tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute Günther Rehmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunter Knoll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Edoburg's goal looked a bit too open when Günther Rehmer came free, but Gunter Knoll reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Günther Rehmer sped through Edoburg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gunter Knoll. After having played for 72 minutes, Raphael Wuttke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edoburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raphael Wuttke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute, Edoburg's Raphael Wuttke dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Raphael Wuttke struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Claus Nobs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edoburg. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
