Pütterhöfe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kai Paschen ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Raphael Wuttke heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 44 minutes into the match, Eckard Mahler notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Pütterhöfe's Zoran Gross. Zoran Gross was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raphael Wuttke to strike the kick off in the second half. Joscha Sieg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunter Knoll having to interfere. Raphael Wuttke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Pütterhöfe's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Wuttke came free, but Zoran Gross reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edoburg walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
