If Dittmar Wunder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jakob Richstein struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Gunther Meiswinkel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1 FC Argentinos. Fredy Grobmaul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dittmar Wunder in the 20th minute of the match. Dittmar Wunder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Fredy Grobmaul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thorsten Mühlhäuser charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The crowd rose to their feet as 1 FC Argentinos's Jakob Richstein slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gunther Meiswinkel. That made the score 1-0 after 37 minutes of play. 41 minutes into the game, Torbjörn Joosten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gunther Meiswinkel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Ibach's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jakob Richstein was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakob Richstein in the 95th minute of play forced Ibach's goalkeeper Gunther Meiswinkel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ibach players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for 1 FC Argentinos.
