Willy Ochs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Valerian Nowak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valerian Nowak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aimo Bauer in the 8th minute of the match. Valerian Nowak didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aimo Bauer went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 13th minute, Aimo Bauer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Hultrop's Benjamin Alpermann got a free kick in the 15th minute. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Kai Gläßel put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Valerian Nowak. 32 minutes into the game, FC Frankfurt's Kai Gläßel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valerian Nowak made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Kai Gläßel struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Valerian Nowak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Frankfurt. The supporters of FC Frankfurt booed when Hultrop was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bert Fiedler didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Aimo Bauer managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Frankfurt's supporters rose to their feet, but Aimo Bauer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valerian Nowak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th match minute, Hultrop was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edo Gall to maneuver through the defense. The Hultrop players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Frankfurt were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Corvinus Ruthus to make the kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Frankfurt's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ramon Rudolph was slow to take the kick. During this time Hultrop's players had a chance to rest. In the 54th minute Hultrop were awarded a corner. Ramon Rudolph went to the cornerflag to take it. After 55 minutes, Bo Hirt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Frankfurt and the Hultrop players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hultrop booed when FC Frankfurt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Hirt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hultrop's Valerian Nowak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kai Gläßel in the 60th minute of play. Corvinus Ruthus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Zöller having to interfere. If Bo Hirt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Frankfurt's Aimo Bauer got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mark Moock fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hultrop's protests and gave Mark Moock a yellow card for diving instead. Hultrop's Cornelis Stotz got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Corvinus Ruthus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulf Zöller read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Hultrop's goal looked a bit too open when Kai Gläßel came free, but Valerian Nowak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Frankfurt's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
