Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. August Lautwein started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Hultrop's zone, August Lautwein stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valerian Nowak came out of the goal and August Lautwein tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, August Lautwein managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kerpen's supporters rose to their feet, but August Lautwein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valerian Nowak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Lothar Schub fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kerpen's protests and gave Lothar Schub a yellow card for diving instead. If August Lautwein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. August Lautwein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Kerpen booed when Hultrop was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iso Hippler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, August Lautwein made a precise shot to the right of Valerian Nowak. Hultrop's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when August Lautwein got free with Valerian Nowak in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute, Mark Moock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anselm Jester got free with Valerian Nowak in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hultrop's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pekko Gmelin was slow to take the kick. During this time Kerpen's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Pekko Gmelin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hultrop's Valerian Nowak did a great save. Eppo Czwenk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corvinus Ruthus, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Hanno Hampen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Corvinus Ruthus made the kick off in the second half. When Mark Moock fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hultrop's protests and gave Mark Moock a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kerpen booed when Hultrop was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Moock didn't get a good kick on the ball. August Lautwein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valerian Nowak having to interfere. Valerian Nowak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from August Lautwein, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Anselm Jester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Valerian Nowak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If August Lautwein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If David Strasbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anselm Jester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valerian Nowak having to interfere. In the 78thth minute of the game Anselm Jester who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hultrop's Valerian Nowak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Hanno Hampen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Strasbach charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Strasbach the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eppo Czwenk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cornelis Stotz in the 90th minute. In the 95th minute, Cornelis Stotz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Kerpen's goal looked a bit too open when Corvinus Ruthus came free, but Eppo Czwenk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Kerpen fully deserved thier win.
