Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Josef Krause kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the match, Coldemüntje's goal looked a bit too open when August Lautwein came free, but Welf Krasselt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nat Zeitzmann charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nat Zeitzmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th match minute, Coldemüntje was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nat Zeitzmann to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the game, August Lautwein cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Welf Krasselt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hanno Hampen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Coldemüntje's zone, August Lautwein stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Welf Krasselt came out of the goal and August Lautwein tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rick Hörnschemeyer hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. A collision led to Coldemüntje getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Wolf-Dieter Ruck hit a great ball. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coldemüntje's goalkeeper Welf Krasselt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Kerpen's goalkeeper Eppo Czwenk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wolf-Dieter Ruck. In the 34th minute, Wolf-Dieter Ruck left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coldemüntje fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Hanno Hampen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Welf Krasselt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Kerpen's goal looked a bit too open when Rick Hörnschemeyer came free, but Eppo Czwenk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eppo Czwenk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Krause in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell August Lautwein to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Coldemüntje's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after August Lautwein fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 54 minutes, David Strasbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kerpen's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Strasbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. August Lautwein recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hanno Hampen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Welf Krasselt having to interfere. Otmar Uhlenbrock charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otmar Uhlenbrock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 59 played minutes Coldemüntje got a freekick which was hit by Otmar Uhlenbrock. August Lautwein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Welf Krasselt having to interfere. Anselm Jester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If August Lautwein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anselm Jester let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 67th minute shot 1-2 at rihgt post. In the 77thth minute of the game Wolf-Dieter Ruck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kerpen's Eppo Czwenk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. August Lautwein blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Welf Krasselt having to make a save. Anselm Jester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 86 minutes, August Lautwein managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kerpen's supporters crossed their fingers, but August Lautwein was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, Rick Hörnschemeyer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselm Jester struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Welf Krasselt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kerpen. The Coldemüntje fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kerpen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
