In the 5th minute of the match Dominik Althenn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Kalitta skillfully saved the ball. In the 6th match minute, Elterlein was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bastian Krafft to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Herbert Stube's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Kalitta was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Oswald Kuch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bastian Krafft, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacob Terstappen charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacob Terstappen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 25 minutes into the game, one of Elterlein:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 29 played minutes Elterlein got a freekick which was hit by Hasso Wochele. Ronald Carlsen kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Dominik Althenn kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Benno Huermann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elterlein's goalkeeper Hugo Kalitta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Elterlein getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ronald Carlsen hit a great ball. Herbert Stube recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hugo Kalitta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herbert Stube's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After 49 played minutes Preussen Krefeld II got a freekick which was hit by Täve Echterhoff. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Oswald Kuch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Carlsen in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Ronald Carlsen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elterlein fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 60 played minutes Elterlein got a freekick which was hit by Ronald Carlsen. Hugo Kalitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herbert Stube, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the game, Elterlein's Ronald Carlsen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oswald Kuch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Florin Gottmann charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee ignored Elterlein's protests and gave Ronald Carlsen a yellow card for diving instead. Ronald Carlsen hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Ivica Egger lost his temper 75 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörn Grosser got free with Hugo Kalitta in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benno Huermann in the 88th minute of play forced Preussen Krefeld II's goalkeeper Oswald Kuch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The free kick made by Preussen Krefeld II's Jörn Grosser led to a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Oswald Kuch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benno Huermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
