Gil Breche was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Danny Frank showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 38 minute of play. With his leg Gil Breche managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when FC Bayern München's Aydin Binninger fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lüder Reffelmann kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Raiko Schott took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lothar Gaul. FC Bayern München's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

FC Bayern München's Aydin Binninger got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Brand got free with Lothar Gaul in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jindrich Hauk received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lothar Gaul came out and tried to block the shot, but Jindrich Hauk slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Yalova SK's goal looked a bit too open when Aydin Binninger came free, but Gil Breche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toralf Polster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lothar Gaul read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Aydin Binninger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Breche having to interfere. Julius Mann's late challenge caught a FC Bayern München's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julius Mann helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Yalova SK's Julius Mann got a free kick in the 98th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Bayern München fully deserved thier win.
