Albert Edewecht made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Koenecke in the 8th minute of play. Kieler ESV's Albert Edewecht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ekkehard Mintzel in the 19th minute of play. Albert Edewecht was a little too slow when Ekkehard Mintzel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Karol Steffen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebald Majewski. Lederbach's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karol Steffen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Lederbach's Sebald Majewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulrich Dunz in the 33rd minute of play. Ekkehard Mintzel hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Albert Edewecht made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Ekkehard Mintzel sent off a good shot on target. With 41 minutes on the clock, Benedetto Dötsch commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 41st minute, one of Lederbach:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lederbach. Karol Steffen shot the penalty kick right outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karol Steffen in the 45th minute of play forced Lederbach's goalkeeper Sebald Majewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th match minute, Lederbach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Bertermann to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Karol Steffen scored 1-3 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebald Majewski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 82 played minutes Kieler ESV got a freekick which was hit by Karol Steffen. 90 minutes into the match, Lederbach's goal looked a bit too open when Karol Steffen came free, but Sebald Majewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Ekkehard Mintzel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebald Majewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karol Steffen in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kieler ESV had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
