The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Waldemar Aust got free with Werner Elsässer in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Konstantin Gradistanac succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 9th playminute. After having played for 13 minutes, Waldemar Aust managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gengenbacher FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Aust was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Werner Elsässer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Konstantin Gradistanac's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. After 17 minutes, Andi Kalitta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rappoltskirchen FSV and the Gengenbacher FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andi Kalitta hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Balder Hemmerich kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes, Gengenbacher FC's Björn Ackermann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Werner Elsässer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gengenbacher FC reached it. Heiko Blachstein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rayk Reutter's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Waldemar Aust recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Werner Elsässer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstantin Gradistanac in the 28th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Rappoltskirchen FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Konstantin Gradistanac came free, but Werner Elsässer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Konstantin Gradistanac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes in the game, Konstantin Gradistanac fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Werner Elsässer having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Konstantin Gradistanac made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Waldemar Aust got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 61 minutes, Konstantin Gradistanac managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gengenbacher FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Konstantin Gradistanac was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldemar Aust couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Gengenbacher FC's Björn Ackermann got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Heiko Blachstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Strauß, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Rappoltskirchen FSV's Ulli Rackstein sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heiko Blachstein narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Waldemar Aust fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Elsässer having to interfere. When Ulli Rackstein came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Rappoltskirchen FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulli Rackstein couldn't finish the play. Rayk Reutter struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Heiko Blachstein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rappoltskirchen FSV. In the 90th match minute, Gengenbacher FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hagen Knodel to maneuver through the defense. Gengenbacher FC's Heiko Blachstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulli Rackstein in the 95th minute of play. Rayk Reutter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heiko Blachstein having to make a save. Heiko Blachstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulli Rackstein in the 97th minute of the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
