With 5 minutes on the clock, Uffe Joosten commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 6th match minute, CF Nürnberg Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uffe Joosten to maneuver through the defense. The audience held their breath when Davor Burkert in the 7th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Hans Süßmann's left hand side. Axel Woldag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ingmar Nettig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Axel Woldag fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Süßmann having to interfere. Joachim Butzer kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of CF Nürnberg Kickers booed when FC Zufallstreffer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyril Heimann didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 minutes of play, CF Nürnberg Kickers's Josip Credo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Henrik Franiel was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Axel Schuster during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingmar Nettig got free with Hans Süßmann in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Axel Woldag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Woldag to strike the kick off in the second half. CF Nürnberg Kickers's Hans Süßmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingmar Nettig in the 52nd minute of play. Axel Woldag recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to CF Nürnberg Kickers getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Franz Bethke hit a great ball. In the 62nd match minute, CF Nürnberg Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfred Kreikemeyer to maneuver through the defense. Ingmar Nettig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Süßmann having to interfere. When Axel Woldag came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the FC Zufallstreffer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Woldag couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute, Jürn Dehm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Axel Woldag came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the FC Zufallstreffer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Woldag couldn't finish the play. 72 minutes into the match, Ingmar Nettig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hans Süßmann. CF Nürnberg Kickers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ingmar Nettig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After having played for 80 minutes, Ingmar Nettig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Zufallstreffer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingmar Nettig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Axel Woldag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hanno Köhler fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CF Nürnberg Kickers's protests and gave Hanno Köhler a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to CF Nürnberg Kickers getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Hanno Köhler hit a great ball. Axel Woldag blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hans Süßmann having to make a save. 96 minutes into the match, CF Nürnberg Kickers's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Woldag came free, but Hans Süßmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Zufallstreffer fully deserved thier win.
