After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Simon Hospelt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balthasar Frühwirt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 11th minute, Hugo Aust hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Hospelt in the 36th minute of play forced Hübenthal's goalkeeper Balthasar Frühwirt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd match minute, Hübenthal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kord Ballhut to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Walsrode getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Ivo Graul hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Hospelt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Hübenthal's Hugo Aust got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Walsrode booed when Hübenthal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kort Jahr didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 minutes of play, Walsrode's Jost Jahr made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Balthasar Frühwirt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Simon Hospelt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Balthasar Frühwirt came out of the goal and Simon Hospelt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Balthasar Frühwirt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Hospelt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claus Elter hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Balthasar Frühwirt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Hospelt in the 79th minute of play.
