In the 9th minute of the match, Stefan Schlief tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jörg Gabriel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mark Behling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jörg Gabriel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Joachimsmeier in the 14th minute. Mark Behling struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Tobias Haileck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borussia Mönchengladbach. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ioannis Ahrendt in the 20th minute of play forced Borussia Mönchengladbach's goalkeeper Jörg Gabriel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Ioannis Ahrendt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jörg Gabriel, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Roxel's zone, Alonso Kneissli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tobias Haileck came out of the goal and Alonso Kneissli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28thth minute of the game Mark Behling who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Roxel's Tobias Haileck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th minute Erasmus Frowerk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Haileck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flemming Hintze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jörg Gabriel having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, FC Roxel's goal looked a bit too open when Erasmus Frowerk came free, but Tobias Haileck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Behling in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Haileck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Borussia Mönchengladbach's Jörg Gabriel got control of the ball when Alex Joachimsmeier tried to sneak it across the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stefan Schlief was the one to do the kick off. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Jörg Gabriel had in the 53rdth minute some difficulties stopping Ferdi Kropp's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. FC Roxel were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Borussia Mönchengladbach's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ferdi Kropp took the corner. The corner led to FC Roxel's Michael Schimmöller getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 55th minute, Michael Schimmöller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mark Behling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Tobias Haileck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flemming Hintze in the 61st minute of play forced Borussia Mönchengladbach's goalkeeper Jörg Gabriel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ioannis Ahrendt hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Borussia Mönchengladbach's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Joachimsmeier came free, but Jörg Gabriel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
