After a rather tough play, DSC Arminia Bielefeld's Lemmy Dogan got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 47th minute, Lovis Urgien reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alexander Drobinski. The goal made the score 1-0. The wind increased when Lovis Urgien made the kick off in the second half. Eintracht Trier's Gregor Bussler got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Harald Kiehl came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Eintracht Trier fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harald Kiehl couldn't finish the play. Lovis Urgien scored 2-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexander Drobinski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Heiko Huffschmid stood somewhat misplaced when Gregor Bussler came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 66 minute. The Eintracht Trier fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Eintracht Trier's Gregor Bussler looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
