After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Ludo Gers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elmendorf FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Ludo Gers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heiko Huffschmid breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Livio Plotkowiak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lovis Urgien in the 6th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lovis Urgien in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Livio Plotkowiak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th minute, Ali Rehm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Elmendorf FSV's zone, Maximilian Birk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Livio Plotkowiak came out of the goal and Maximilian Birk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Heiko Huffschmid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezzo Kraft in the 24th minute of the match. If Jochen Wedig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heiko Huffschmid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezzo Kraft, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 30thth minute of the game Lovis Urgien who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elmendorf FSV's Livio Plotkowiak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximilian Birk got free with Livio Plotkowiak in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lovis Urgien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Livio Plotkowiak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lovis Urgien to strike the kick off in the second half. Benny Baltzer charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benny Baltzer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Benny Baltzer hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. With a little luck, DSC Arminia Bielefeld's Heiko Huffschmid got control of the ball when Jochen Wedig tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Elmendorf FSV's Jochen Wedig slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Heiko Huffschmid. That made the score 0-1 after 53 minutes of play. DSC Arminia Bielefeld's Heiko Huffschmid proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save DSC Arminia Bielefeld from getting a goal against them. In the 59th match minute, Elmendorf FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Stehmer to maneuver through the defense. Ezzo Kraft struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Heiko Huffschmid didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elmendorf FSV. In the 66th minute Ezzo Kraft shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heiko Huffschmid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. DSC Arminia Bielefeld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximilian Birk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 99 minutes into the match, DSC Arminia Bielefeld's Maximilian Birk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Livio Plotkowiak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Elmendorf FSV eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
