Spectators: 6837 (Terracing: 5100, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Otis Mauthe started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Kiekbusch's zone, Konrad Waschke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Odo Petershagen came out of the goal and Konrad Waschke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute Otis Mauthe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomasz Schlesiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Kiekbusch's Otis Mauthe in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye BESIKTAS ISTANBUL's goalie prevented a goal. Otis Mauthe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomasz Schlesiger having to interfere. If Gerd Gill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. BESIKTAS ISTANBUL's Tomasz Schlesiger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerd Gill in the 18th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, BESIKTAS ISTANBUL's goal looked a bit too open when Otis Mauthe came free, but Tomasz Schlesiger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Otis Mauthe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomasz Schlesiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomasz Schlesiger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otis Mauthe, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Kiekbusch's Odo Petershagen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Kiekbusch from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arjen Jetter during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of BESIKTAS ISTANBUL booed when Kiekbusch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arjen Jetter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otis Mauthe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Tomasz Schlesiger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Konrad Waschke made a kick off. Tomasz Schlesiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otis Mauthe in the 51st minute of the match. After 57 played minutes Kiekbusch got a freekick which was hit by Ulrich Eder. Domian Griesbeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odo Petershagen having to interfere. Domian Griesbeck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Beppo Rackstein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Kiekbusch's goal looked a bit too open when Konrad Waschke came free, but Odo Petershagen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Gerd Gill dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tomasz Schlesiger, 0-1. Kiekbusch's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerd Gill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomasz Schlesiger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gerd Gill came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Kiekbusch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerd Gill couldn't finish the play. Kiekbusch's Otis Mauthe got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Otis Mauthe sped through BESIKTAS ISTANBUL's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tomasz Schlesiger. Tomasz Schlesiger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otis Mauthe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
