The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 17 minutes into the game, Nils Weidemeier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zellprojekt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Graf Bernhard zur Lippe the free kick. After 17 played minutes Zellprojekt got a freekick which was hit by Nils Weidemeier. With an all-out effort, Zellprojekt's Guido Spörer threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ibrahim Voßhoff, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ibrahim Voßhoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guido Spörer having to interfere. Zellprojekt's Jörg Bell got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ibrahim Voßhoff in the 34th minute of play forced Graf Bernhard zur Lippe's goalkeeper Guido Spörer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jörg Bell succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. After 46 minutes, Ibrahim Voßhoff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zellprojekt and the Graf Bernhard zur Lippe players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Zellprojekt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ibrahim Voßhoff to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florian Arenz to strike the kick off in the second half. Ibrahim Voßhoff struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Guido Spörer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zellprojekt. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joseph Nomayo got free with Jan Goepel in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Zellprojekt's Nils Weidemeier got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Zellprojekt's zone, Joseph Nomayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Goepel came out of the goal and Joseph Nomayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Zellprojekt's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Arenz came free, but Jan Goepel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florian Arenz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Goepel having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joseph Nomayo during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th minute, Joseph Nomayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute of the match, Florian Arenz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jan Goepel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Florian Arenz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zellprojekt's Ibrahim Voßhoff got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörg Bell in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guido Spörer saved Graf Bernhard zur Lippe from getting behind. Ibrahim Voßhoff hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The long shot by Marko Ebenfeld in the 96th minute really tested Jan Goepel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
