The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. August Karhoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Ole Dittrich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th match minute, Kämpfer Tubus Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Nonnenbruch to maneuver through the defense. Ole Dittrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Menno Hasenjäger in the 12th minute of play. Ole Dittrich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Menno Hasenjäger, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. If Menno Hasenjäger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Menno Hasenjäger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Pehr hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Jonas Theißen hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Harald Niedermeier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kai Zenetti was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Kai Zenetti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald Niedermeier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Kämpfer Tubus Team's Daniel Pehr got a free kick in the 47th minute. August Karhoff received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ole Dittrich came out and tried to block the shot, but August Karhoff slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 49th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Menno Hasenjäger to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Harald Niedermeier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kämpfer Tubus Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Harald Niedermeier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kai Zenetti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Harald Niedermeier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Menno Hasenjäger hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Menno Hasenjäger in the 77th minute of play forced Kämpfer Tubus Team's goalkeeper Ole Dittrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Kämpfer Tubus Team getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Daniel Pehr hit a great ball. Kämpfer Tubus Team's Ole Dittrich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menno Hasenjäger in the 80th minute of play. The supporters of Hamburger Sport Verein booed when Kämpfer Tubus Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Rautert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kassian Seelig missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 83 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Ole Dittrich right hand side. In the 92nd minute Menno Hasenjäger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ole Dittrich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Hamburger Sport Verein getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Thaddäus Flosbach hit a great ball. Ole Dittrich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from August Karhoff in the 97th minute of the match.
