Uri Erler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Metzner having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Theurer in the 9th minute of play forced Catterfeld's goalkeeper Hans Metzner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glenn Sell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sami Gallois might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jörn Roth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sami Gallois ran back to his position shaking his head. Jörn Roth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glenn Sell in the 16th minute of play. Till Hohlfeld hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sami Gallois in the 22nd minute of play forced fc gabar's goalkeeper Jörn Roth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glenn Sell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Catterfeld's Eberhard Obert got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 46th minute Glenn Sell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jörn Roth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tony Theurer to make the kick off. After 58 played minutes Catterfeld got a freekick which was hit by Glenn Sell. After having played for 60 minutes, Uri Erler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. fc gabar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uri Erler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the game, fc gabar's Tony Theurer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hans Metzner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 63 minutes into the game, Wolf Heilmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. fc gabar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catterfeld the free kick. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind fc gabar's goalkeeper Jörn Roth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Catterfeld's zone, Tony Theurer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Metzner came out of the goal and Tony Theurer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Sami Gallois managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catterfeld's supporters rose to their feet, but Sami Gallois was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jörn Roth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Uri Erler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hans Metzner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Jörn Roth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sami Gallois in the 82nd minute. If Sami Gallois had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Catterfeld's Onno Heimeier got a free kick in the 90th minute. Tony Theurer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 96 minutes, Glenn Sell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catterfeld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glenn Sell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. fc gabar were victorious despite being under pressure from Catterfeld for much of the match.
