An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn Sell in the 39th minute of play forced Lutter's goalkeeper Albert Westrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 minutes, Jaroslaw Isele mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lutter and the Catterfeld players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Jaroslaw Isele was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 46 minutes had been played. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Albert Westrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glenn Sell in the 52nd minute of play. Glenn Sell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 57 minutes into the match, Lutter's goal looked a bit too open when Sami Gallois came free, but Albert Westrich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glenn Sell in the 59th minute of play forced Lutter's goalkeeper Albert Westrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Till Hohlfeld during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Till Hohlfeld hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the game, Thomas Kloos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lutter's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glenn Sell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 79 played minutes Catterfeld got a freekick which was hit by Glenn Sell. A collision led to Catterfeld getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Elmo Dubinski hit a great ball. In the 84th minute Glenn Sell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Westrich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Glenn Sell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albert Westrich was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Glenn Sell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Westrich having to interfere. There was no doubt that Catterfeld were the better team. Catterfeld's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
