In the 24th minute, Benni Ostmeyer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Herwig Koenecke. The goal made the score 2-0. If Volkmar Nussbaum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benni Ostmeyer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herwig Koenecke having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Herwig Koenecke successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Herwig Koenecke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benni Ostmeyer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herwig Koenecke came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Saar FC's Volkmar Nussbaum. But to his dismay, Volkmar Nussbaum quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. If Benni Ostmeyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benni Ostmeyer was the one to do the kick off. The 1.FC Rumpelfüßler fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herwig Koenecke should have stopped the shot. 73 minutes into the game, Gerrit Neustadt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 1.FC Rumpelfüßler's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saar FC the free kick. Herwig Koenecke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benni Ostmeyer, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
