After some careless play in the Butteldorf defense, Toni Nissen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lothar Miller. The Butteldorf fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lothar Miller should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Schubeus in the 10th minute of play forced Butteldorf's goalkeeper Lothar Miller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Butteldorf's Ralph Josten got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anton Buchta charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anton Buchta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anton Buchta kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ralph Josten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eike Godenschwengen was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Max Kaiser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Wolffram Evers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VFTTF ESSINGEN 2023 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Lothar Miller was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Gunter Paulus capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gunter Paulus really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Lothar Miller made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Toni Nissen sent off a good shot on target. Marc Schubeus kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 40th minute of the match Camillo Romstedt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eike Godenschwengen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Conrad Gantenbrink got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gunter Paulus was extremely unlucky when he, in the 47th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gunter Paulus to make the kick off. Lothar Miller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Nissen in the 56th minute of the match. Lothar Miller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toni Nissen in the 62nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ralph Josten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eike Godenschwengen. That made the score 3-1 in the 66 minute of play. Eike Godenschwengen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filippo Junker in the 79th minute of play. After 81 minutes, Leopold Ahlgrimm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VFTTF ESSINGEN 2023 and the Butteldorf players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to VFTTF ESSINGEN 2023 getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Leopold Ahlgrimm hit a great ball. Eike Godenschwengen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Reno Meise. Ralph Josten struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Eike Godenschwengen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Butteldorf. The audience was convinced that Ralph Josten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eike Godenschwengen was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Ralph Josten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eike Godenschwengen having to make a save. A hard shot by Reno Meise from long distance, 94 minutes into the match, got Eike Godenschwengen's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. VFTTF ESSINGEN 2023 were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
