In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Bensheim's goalkeeper Hein Kalouti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, FC Bensheim's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Brandl came free, but Hein Kalouti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, FSV Thale 23's Felix Brandl nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hein Kalouti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Brandl couldn't finish the play. Welf Thieringer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rutger Höfer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Angelo Meist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, FSV Thale 23's goalkeeper Angelo Meist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Welf Thieringer. In the 34th minute, Felix Brandl ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hein Kalouti was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Lothar Wehners charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lothar Wehners the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC Bensheim's Lothar Wehners got a free kick in the 37th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reiner Wörner during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Bensheim booed when FSV Thale 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reiner Wörner didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FSV Thale 23 getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Sebastian Neumann hit a great ball.

FC Bensheim's Hein Kalouti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save FC Bensheim from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Sebastian Neumann got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Welf Thieringer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The FC Bensheim supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FSV Thale 23's performance. The match ended with a win for FSV Thale 23.
