Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lasse Barthe took the kick off in the first half of the match. Sandford's Peter-Michael Berresch got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sandford's zone, Vladimir Scherf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Thal came out of the goal and Vladimir Scherf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Vladimir Scherf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 played minutes FSV Thale 23 got a freekick which was hit by Torsten Panetta. 11 minutes into the match, FSV Thale 23's goalkeeper Angelo Meist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peter-Michael Berresch. When Sandford's Lasse Barthe in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FSV Thale 23's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in FSV Thale 23's zone, Peter-Michael Berresch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Meist came out of the goal and Peter-Michael Berresch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lasse Barthe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Angelo Meist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FSV Thale 23's Angelo Meist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save FSV Thale 23 from getting a goal against them. Peter-Michael Berresch's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Angelo Meist firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 21st minute Sandford were awarded a corner. Blaise Noll went to the cornerflag to take it. Sandford's Ruben Thomae was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Angelo Meist in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Felix Brandl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Vladimir Scherf ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Thal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Atze Laurischk's late challenge caught a FSV Thale 23's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atze Laurischk helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, Sandford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atze Laurischk to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Thal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Brandl in the 32nd minute of the match. Edgar Thal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Scherf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter-Michael Berresch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Angelo Meist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

After having played for 52 minutes, Peter-Michael Berresch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter-Michael Berresch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 52 minutes into the game, Lasse Barthe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Angelo Meist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vladimir Scherf could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Edgar Thal made a huge save. FSV Thale 23's Angelo Meist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter-Michael Berresch in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, FSV Thale 23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Neumann to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vladimir Scherf got free with Edgar Thal in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute, FSV Thale 23's Felix Brandl dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Edgar Thal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Brandl in the 70th minute of play. Sandford's Edgar Thal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Sandford from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the game, Sebastian Neumann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FSV Thale 23's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sandford the free kick. In the 77th minute, Sebastian Neumann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FSV Thale 23's Angelo Meist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lasse Barthe in the 80th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reiner Wörner during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FSV Thale 23 getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Reiner Wörner hit a great ball. After some careless play in the FSV Thale 23 defense, Lasse Barthe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Meist. The FSV Thale 23 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Meist should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Felix Brandl's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Thal was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. In the 87th match minute, Sandford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wayne Schädel to maneuver through the defense. Felix Brandl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Thal having to interfere. Vladimir Scherf in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgar Thal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Atze Laurischk was shown his second yellow card after 93 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 95 minutes into the game Lutz Eisold kicked a great long shot which passed Edgar Thal straight ahead into the goal, Result 2-3. One couldn't see Lutz Eisold behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. The FSV Thale 23 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
