Karel Sigrist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arno Schlesinger having to interfere. When Ricky Schuster fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blockshagen's protests and gave Ricky Schuster a yellow card for diving instead. Jürgen Melchert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kuno Kindler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dolf Stober kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Ricky Schuster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Karel Sigrist managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Yürrübe's supporters rose to their feet, but Karel Sigrist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arno Schlesinger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Yürrübe's goalkeeper Jürgen Melchert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Karel Sigrist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arno Schlesinger having to interfere. Ricky Schuster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jürgen Melchert having to interfere. FC Yürrübe's Jürgen Melchert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kuno Kindler in the 30th minute of play. Willi Rädel's late challenge caught a FC Yürrübe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Willi Rädel helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Blockshagen got a freekick which was hit by Willi Rädel. After a defensive mix-up in Blockshagen's zone, Karel Sigrist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arno Schlesinger came out of the goal and Karel Sigrist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sven Kiefer during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Claudius Fromme fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Yürrübe's protests and gave Claudius Fromme a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th minute, Claudius Fromme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manfred Köppchen hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kuno Kindler to strike the kick off in the second half. Arno Schlesinger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudius Fromme in the 52nd minute of play. Willi Rädel got his second yellow card in the match during the 52nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Blockshagen's Willi Rädel got a free kick in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the game, Kuno Kindler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blockshagen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Yürrübe the free kick. After 55 played minutes Blockshagen got a freekick which was hit by Kuno Kindler. Utz Berntsen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arno Schlesinger. Blockshagen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arno Schlesinger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tyron Lux went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. FC Yürrübe's Tyron Lux got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Tyron Lux made a precise shot to the right of Arno Schlesinger. Blockshagen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Ricky Schuster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jürgen Melchert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cord Bleichert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Utz Berntsen was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 75 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of FC Yürrübe:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Blockshagen:s goal. The goalkeeper, Jürgen Melchert, was totally fooled by Blockshagen's Alexander Schick, who 77 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Ricky Schuster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jürgen Melchert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricky Schuster got free with Jürgen Melchert in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricky Schuster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blockshagen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
