Georg Merkel's late challenge caught a SC Freiburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Georg Merkel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Freiburg booed when Tierbach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Merkel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jens-Uwe Beimes hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Jochen Koch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Lennart Tolkmitt made a huge save. Tierbach's Fortunatus Sachse challenged an opponent after 19 minutes. The hit was so bad that he suffered a foot injury. A collision led to SC Freiburg getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Stephan Uhlenbrock hit a great ball. With a little luck, SC Freiburg's Lennart Tolkmitt got control of the ball when Wilfried Kurz tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Tierbach booed when SC Freiburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hansi Eisele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jochen Koch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Lennart Tolkmitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Tierbach's goal looked a bit too open when Finn Stockburger came free, but Leo Meier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jochen Koch who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Lennart Tolkmitt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Tierbach's Arpad Wollberg got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute, Jochen Koch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Georg Merkel came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Tierbach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Merkel couldn't finish the play. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Freiburg! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jochen Koch made a kick off. When Tierbach's Jochen Koch in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Freiburg's goalie prevented a goal. Emilio Gerdung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Lennart Tolkmitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jochen Koch struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Lennart Tolkmitt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tierbach. Lennart Tolkmitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Gerdung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 played minutes SC Freiburg got a freekick which was hit by Hansi Eisele. When Tierbach's Jochen Koch in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Freiburg's goalie prevented a goal. Tierbach's Jochen Koch got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the SC Freiburg defense, Arpad Wollberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lennart Tolkmitt. The SC Freiburg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lennart Tolkmitt should have stopped the shot. Julius Maller kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Jochen Koch sped through SC Freiburg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lennart Tolkmitt. When Tierbach's Jochen Koch in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Freiburg's goalie prevented a goal. Artur Blaustein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute Jochen Koch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennart Tolkmitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jochen Koch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Tolkmitt having to interfere. If Jochen Koch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tierbach fully deserved thier win.
