After having played for 10 minutes, Hans Sacher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Döhlen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Sacher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 12 minutes, Nils Scheringer made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Yürrübe's Jürgen Melchert tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Döhlen's Bonito Kösters got a free kick in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Bonito Kösters managed to get in a good position for a shot. Döhlen's supporters rose to their feet, but Bonito Kösters was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jürgen Melchert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Nils Scheringer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jürgen Melchert was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Döhlen's Eric Schinnenburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karel Sigrist in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Sacher in the 41st minute of play forced FC Yürrübe's goalkeeper Jürgen Melchert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karel Sigrist to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Döhlen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theodor Mank to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd minute of the match Utz Berntsen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eric Schinnenburg skillfully saved the ball. Nils Scheringer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jürgen Melchert having to interfere. Nils Scheringer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jürgen Melchert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Yürrübe's goalkeeper Jürgen Melchert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. But to his dismay, Karel Sigrist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Yürrübe's goalkeeper Jürgen Melchert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76th minute there was a penalty for FC Yürrübe. Utz Berntsen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eric Schinnenburg. 2-1. Döhlen's Eric Schinnenburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karel Sigrist in the 79th minute of play. After 80 minutes, Claudius Fromme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Yürrübe and the Döhlen players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th minute, Claudius Fromme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jürgen Melchert made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Hans Sacher sent off a good shot on target. Nils Scheringer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute of the match Theodor Mank sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jürgen Melchert skillfully saved the ball. In the 92nd play minute Hans Sacher came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jürgen Melchert. 2-2. If Hans Sacher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Döhlen were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
