Jindrich Junker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 11 minutes into the match, 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's goalkeeper Didi Ocker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jindrich Junker. Jindrich Junker struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Didi Ocker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hahnenberg. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrich Bredel in the 16th minute of play forced 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's goalkeeper Didi Ocker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With splendid footwork Jindrich Junker arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-0 by the left pole in the game's 17th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jindrich Junker got free with Didi Ocker in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulrich Bredel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jindrich Junker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Didi Ocker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Ulrich Bredel lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Didi Ocker. Thanks to some nice moves Jindrich Junker could shoot a difficult shot in the 31st minute, which Didi Ocker however easily saved by the left post. After 32 played minutes 1. Fc Kaiserslautern got a freekick which was hit by Kim Dirkes. Kostas Hummel's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Didi Ocker - 3-0 was put on the score board in the 33rd minute. Didi Ocker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulrich Bredel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jindrich Junker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42ndth minute of the game Ulrich Bredel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's Didi Ocker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kim Dirkes hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Jindrich Junker was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 45th minute. Hahnenberg's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Ulrich Bredel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ulrich Bredel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Calvin Klasen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calvin Klasen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th match minute, Hahnenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Kremer to maneuver through the defense. Ulrich Bredel struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. When Hamit Hadewicz came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the 1. Fc Kaiserslautern fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hamit Hadewicz couldn't finish the play. Ulrich Bredel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi Ocker having to interfere. Didi Ocker came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Hahnenberg's Ulrich Bredel. But to his dismay, Ulrich Bredel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 87thth minute of the game Jindrich Junker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's Didi Ocker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Hamit Hadewicz came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the 1. Fc Kaiserslautern fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hamit Hadewicz couldn't finish the play. 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's Didi Ocker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulrich Bredel in the 91st minute of play. 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
