Hamit Hadewicz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nikolaus Latocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Mathias Schwede hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute, Michael Wahl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Didi Ocker came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Großmacht Ried e.V.'s Mathias Schwede. But to his dismay, Mathias Schwede quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamit Hadewicz in the 74th minute of play forced FC Großmacht Ried e.V.'s goalkeeper Nikolaus Latocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamit Hadewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Kurt-Jürgen Thom struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Didi Ocker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Großmacht Ried e.V.. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Großmacht Ried e.V. fans cheered their team off the field, for while 1. Fc Kaiserslautern had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
