Michael Popoola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's Hamit Hadewicz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcus Krögner. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Didi Ocker came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Llapi C.F's Helmke Haunstein. But to his dismay, Helmke Haunstein quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 29th minute, but Marcus Krögner got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Llapi C.F hanging dry this time. When Stephan Reichardt fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's protests and gave Stephan Reichardt a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to 1. Fc Kaiserslautern getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Stephan Reichardt hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Aziz Rahnefeld managed to get in a good position for a shot. Llapi C.F's supporters rose to their feet, but Aziz Rahnefeld was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Didi Ocker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hamit Hadewicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Helmke Haunstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Didi Ocker having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hamit Hadewicz to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, 1. Fc Kaiserslautern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kim Dirkes to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute of the match Aziz Rahnefeld sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didi Ocker skillfully saved the ball. 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's Didi Ocker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helmke Haunstein in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Helmke Haunstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didi Ocker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Aziz Rahnefeld sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Didi Ocker threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Aziz Rahnefeld this time. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Dirkes in the 79th minute of play forced Llapi C.F's goalkeeper Marcus Krögner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Llapi C.F's Marcus Krögner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Wahl in the 85th minute of play. After having played for 92 minutes, Hamit Hadewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1. Fc Kaiserslautern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hamit Hadewicz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hamit Hadewicz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Krögner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. 1. Fc Kaiserslautern were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
