The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Willi Rothensteiner was the one to do the kick off. If Willi Rothensteiner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Widmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Hamburger Sportverein getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Sierk Schweers hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Polska Poland Polen's Karlo Michael sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mario Nowack narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, Polska Poland Polen's goal looked a bit too open when Dankward Amstutz came free, but Bastian Weinfort reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Willi Rothensteiner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bastian Weinfort was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hamburger Sportverein had played much better football throughout.
