Ivica Manes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dankward Amstutz in the 15th minute of the match. Ivica Manes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willi Rothensteiner, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Sierk Schweers charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sierk Schweers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ikendorf's Leik Banty got a free kick in the 41st minute. After some careless play in the Ikendorf defense, Dankward Amstutz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivica Manes. The Ikendorf fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivica Manes should have stopped the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dagobert Remmers to make the kick off. Mario Nowack showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kees Seyller in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kees Seyller in the 58th minute of play forced Hamburger Sportverein's goalkeeper Mario Nowack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 72 minutes of play, Ikendorf's Leik Banty made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mario Nowack was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hamburger Sportverein's Mario Nowack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kees Seyller in the 76th minute of play. Dankward Amstutz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dankward Amstutz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dagobert Remmers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Mario Nowack tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dankward Amstutz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivica Manes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Ikendorf's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
