Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Hans Höhn made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th match minute, Opperz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolf Korsikowski to maneuver through the defense. Elmer Zepek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Heiko Robinsohn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Erkan Jonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elmer Zepek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elmer Zepek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heiko Robinsohn having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Ralph Nieberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Opperz booed when Leysiefen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jurek Drichel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 played minutes Opperz got a freekick which was hit by Torben Rivoir. In the 24th match minute, Opperz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmer Zepek to maneuver through the defense. Dierk Prockl took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gregor Thorbrügge. Gregor Thorbrügge dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Leysiefen's Dierk Prockl got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Opperz's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Höhn came free, but Gregor Thorbrügge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Hans Höhn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregor Thorbrügge. Opperz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hans Höhn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Hans Höhn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Gregor Thorbrügge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Leysiefen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolf Oppitz to maneuver through the defense. Silvio Krumbein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Jurek Drichel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Leysiefen were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elmer Zepek to make the kick off. Otto Bader fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heiko Robinsohn having to interfere. In the 53rd match minute, Leysiefen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erkan Jonen to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Silvio Krumbein managed to get in a good position for a shot. Opperz's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvio Krumbein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heiko Robinsohn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jurek Drichel kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. When Elmer Zepek came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Opperz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elmer Zepek couldn't finish the play. Gregor Thorbrügge was a little too slow when Hans Höhn got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 65th minute, Kim Kühnen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ralph Nieberg kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Opperz's zone, Hans Höhn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregor Thorbrügge came out of the goal and Hans Höhn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Opperz's Gregor Thorbrügge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Opperz from getting a goal against them. Heiko Robinsohn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvio Krumbein in the 88th minute of the match. Heiko Robinsohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvio Krumbein in the 92nd minute of play. Leysiefen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
