In the 9th match minute, Hamburger Sv was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustafa Eichwald to maneuver through the defense. Hans Höhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximilian Decker having to interfere. Erkan Jonen kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 26 minutes of play, Hamburger Sv's Armin Nolting made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Heiko Robinsohn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maximilian Decker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dierk Prockl in the 33rd minute. Hans Höhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximilian Decker having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Leysiefen's Dierk Prockl nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximilian Decker made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Maximilian Decker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Höhn, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Hans Höhn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leysiefen's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Höhn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximilian Decker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dierk Stenz made a kick off. Mustafa Eichwald's late challenge caught a Leysiefen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Eichwald helped the player get up and apologised. Mustafa Eichwald kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Hans Höhn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maximilian Decker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Höhn in the 55th minute of play. Maximilian Decker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Höhn, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Maximilian Decker didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dierk Prockl went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Robin Bronner stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Heiko Robinsohn. 3-3. Maximilian Decker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dierk Prockl in the 91st minute of play. In the 95th minute, Dierk Prockl ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maximilian Decker was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Leysiefen fully deserved thier win.
