Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Borussia Dortmund's Ricky Dörnbrack started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Oskar Behning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elmer Zepek who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Sergio Wenauer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Baldur Grath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregor Thorbrügge having to interfere. Borussia Dortmund's Sergio Wenauer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elmer Zepek in the 14th minute of play. Oskar Behning hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Silvio Krumbein blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Wenauer having to make a save. In the 20th minute, Borussia Dortmund's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Silvio Krumbein fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 23 minutes into the match, Elmer Zepek dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sergio Wenauer, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Silvio Krumbein put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sergio Wenauer. After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Dortmund's zone, Silvio Krumbein stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Wenauer came out of the goal and Silvio Krumbein tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Günther Wager. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Borussia Dortmund's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pascal Aust was slow to take the kick. During this time Opperz's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Pascal Aust got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sergio Wenauer quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Silvio Krumbein came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Opperz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvio Krumbein couldn't finish the play. 37 minutes into the match, Silvio Krumbein had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sergio Wenauer. Borussia Dortmund's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvio Krumbein was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvio Krumbein got free with Sergio Wenauer in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Opperz booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolf Schönbein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sergio Wenauer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elmer Zepek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
Sergio Wenauer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvio Krumbein went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Oskar Behning kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Opperz's Pascal Aust broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Opperz booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oskar Behning helped the player get up and apologised. Oskar Behning hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Sergio Wenauer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elmer Zepek in the 65th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Opperz's goalkeeper Gregor Thorbrügge had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baldur Grath. After having played for 72 minutes, Silvio Krumbein managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Opperz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Krumbein was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Elmer Zepek came free, but Sergio Wenauer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvio Krumbein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 80th minute of the match Oskar Behning completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Oskar Behning a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 81st match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oskar Behning to maneuver through the defense. Rolf Korsikowski charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rolf Korsikowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 91 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Ricky Dörnbrack. Silvio Krumbein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Wenauer having to interfere. If Silvio Krumbein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Opperz's Silvio Krumbein sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sergio Wenauer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Opperz fans cheered their team off the field, for while Borussia Dortmund had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
