After a defensive mix-up in Antfeld FSV's zone, Wolfram Reska stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Welf Weller came out of the goal and Wolfram Reska tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th match minute, VfL Kemminghausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Brütting to maneuver through the defense. Helmut Krohm blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernard Fink having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Bruno Kanoneks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Antfeld FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Kanoneks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernard Fink breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 17 played minutes VfL Kemminghausen got a freekick which was hit by Simon Brütting. With a little luck, VfL Kemminghausen's Bernard Fink got control of the ball when Bruno Kanoneks tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Wolfram Reska had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Welf Weller. Antfeld FSV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wolfram Reska was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Antfeld FSV's Welf Weller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heinz Lamp in the 32nd minute of play. Helmut Krohm was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 37th minute Helmut Krohm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Fink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wolfram Reska sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Heinz Lamp in the 46th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Heinz Lamp made a kick off. Bernard Fink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Kanoneks in the 53rd minute of the match. The supporters of Antfeld FSV booed when VfL Kemminghausen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Brütting didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute Helmut Krohm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Fink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Simon Brütting hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernard Fink took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helmut Krohm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Udo Oberleitner hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. If Helmut Krohm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of VfL Kemminghausen booed when Antfeld FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Udo Oberleitner didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute Heinz Lamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Welf Weller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VfL Kemminghausen's Heinz Lamp got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wolfram Reska's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Welf Weller skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 83rd minute, Montgomery Münn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, VfL Kemminghausen's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Kanoneks came free, but Bernard Fink reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Bruno Kanoneks left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Antfeld FSV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Helmut Krohm sped through VfL Kemminghausen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernard Fink. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Antfeld FSV had won after a very even match.
