To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gus Skrotzki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hischam Balko in the 36th minute of the match. Gunnar Weinert hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Jonas Drewes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Leading City's Andi Lück got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 47 minutes, Jonas Drewes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Leading City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Drewes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hischam Balko made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, FC Leading City's Willi Heine dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Willi Heine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gus Skrotzki having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Elmar Rauh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hischam Balko in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gus Skrotzki saved Melbeck from getting behind. Gus Skrotzki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hischam Balko, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Joseph Meisel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Karl Götz. FC Leading City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Karl Götz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elmar Rauh in the 77th minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Drewes couldn't finish the play. Hischam Balko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Jonas Drewes managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Leading City's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas Drewes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gus Skrotzki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Melbeck fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Leading City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
