Jan Klemm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hartmut Lau in the 21st minute of the match. Jeremy Fink hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Jan Klemm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattias Naumann, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Eskil Sabath's late challenge caught a Rot Weiß Vellern's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Thoralf Theilen scored 4-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johan Gleißberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 69 minutes into the match, Dietrich Bauers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan Klemm.
